FAQ
Is it painful?
Sometimes it can be but it is usually only momentary, it is a bit like a visit to the dentist, somewhere you go to seek help with a problem rather than to seek pleasure. Treatment may lead to some pain or discomfort after but this doesn't usually last long.
What is the difference between an osteopath and a chiropractor?
They originated at similar times in America in the 19th century and were quite different alternative systems of medicine. However, as modern medicine has become more efficient at treating disease processes osteopathy and chiropractic developed into systems of treatment mainly aimed at musculo-skeletal pain and bio-mechanical dysfunction. Modern day techniques are quite similar and differences are often individual to the way the practitioner works. Education follows similar lines but chiropractors place more emphasis on the need to study radiology (xrays). One system is not superior to the other.
